Why is poker good for everybody?

June 23, 2009

I have seen people look at me differently when they find out I work in the gambling industry. Very unfair I’d say. Same reasons why people look at artists different too. Artists have always been related to a life full of alcohol and drugs, just to name a few. Same thing happens with gamblers who have made wrong choices. But I have to say that poker is actually good for everyone. Everybody should learn to play poker, at least the basics. Poker is all about reading other people. You have to find patterns while trying to be 10 steps ahead of the rest. You have to learn to control yourself and be patient. You have to believe that you are the best and you can’t hesitate…

Go poker go!

As a female, why do I play online poker… I think there are many reasons why females play online poker. One maybe the obvious and may not be specific to only woman but the intimidation is much less at an online table than at a live table. For me, because I am less intimidating I have more patience to learn when I make bad decisions. Absolute Poker is perfect software to learn from. It has been known from time to time to have new fish. Many people are learning to play poker for the first time and learning from each other. Unfortunately, other than testing before and a bit after a release, I am not able to play on either Absolute Poker or UltimateBet.

A third reason to play online poker is the disguise. At live tables you see sunglasses, hats, hoodies, headphones and other props used to distract other players from reading your poker face. Online you can have an entirely new personality each time you play. There is more freedom to explore different types of play such as being aggressive, bluffing, playing tight…

All these things I have learned from online poker (and my time working with of Absolute Poker and UltimateBet) I have packed in my poker tool kit for live table play. I now feel confident at live tables. From online poker I have learned the rules of the blinds, raises, BB, SB, dealer buttons, positions, etc. Knowing the basics I can focus on the art of intimidation at the live tables.

It takes 15 to tango!

June 5, 2009

So they say that Tango is essentially walking with a partner and the music. In close embrace, the dancers chests are in complete contact and they are dancing with their heads touching or very near each other. Sexy huh?

I’m sure I don’t need to say more… Just… Let’s go to Argentina!

Poker Begginers

June 3, 2009

There comes a time when all Texas Hold’em poker life who thinks that the game of poker online. The beginner Texas Hold’em poker player who happens to learn more about the strategy, reading rooms on online poker to finally take the final decision – to have fun online.

Some beginners do very well from the start, while others fail miserably and stop playing online altogether. So what separates the winner Holdem players losers? Well, just read and learn.

The best Texas Hold’em poker beginners only play the best starting hands. They have tons of patience and folds poor poor hand after hand until the beginning get the cards you want.

It takes a lot of discipline and can be very difficult for a beginner.

The worst Texas Hold’em poker beginners play almost everywhere and every hope of achieving the “flop” and won a hand. Sometimes they do not and that feel as if their strategy is bearing fruit.

In the long term, these poor players lose far more hands then win. Needless to say, lose money. Sometimes they lose a lot of money.

The best beginner integrate the “second tier” of the best Mano Solo after learning to play and win with the best starting hands.

The worst Texas Hold’em poker beginners have no concept of very good hands and even less understanding of “second tier” hands of poker.

Once again, the worst beginners play almost everywhere and every hope of achieving the “flop” and won a hand. Sometimes they do not and that feel as if their strategy is bearing fruit.

The best beginners from small game of poker. Almost all poker rooms online are very small games of chance. These small games of chance are called micro-limits.

Because the best starters are smart enough to start a micro-Limit Hold’em games, can effectively implement its strategy, with the risk very little money. Normally, players in micro-limit games are poor and the best players and can earn money from these games.

By using a slow and steady, the best junior players are able to create his bankroll when sustained progress in games upper limit.

The worst upper limit beginners play games where competition is more difficult because they play too many hands and end up losing money.

The best beginners study the board, see what is the best part is that they have or can be done and then assess whether they can win. If you have a good hand or have a very good opportunity to improve, stay in the game.

If not, fold and save your money for the next party.

I bet you know what it is – the worst in Texas Hold’em poker beginners play too many hands, not learn to read the blackboard and thus lose money.

In short, when you take the decision to play online poker, align themselves with the best starting hands, read board, read your opponents, starting with micro-limit games and enjoy!
